wow haven't posted for 10 days...ok my bad...

1. 3q for all your concerns, the flu is gone =) but i think i got m sick... ^^;; sorry about that... insight gained: so your ab muscle contracts violently everytime you cough...so do u get a 6 pac if you cough for a month (one of those chronic coughing disease thingy?) ?

2. been busy trying to catch up on all the work. senioritus is making the quality of my not-as-important-homeworks suffer - such as child psychology paper, and computability hw sets. but it's ok, the only thing i really wish for is good weather, why is it so cold here, i am too old for this shit... need californian sun...

3. i quit my job today, finally =) my supervisor said "oh i'm glad u said it yourself so i don't have to yell at you" hehe, ya i've been slacking...yay no more pushing boxes of paper to morewood why it's snowing out... job search still sucks. there almost no job postings on tartantrak, and i question the effectiveness of independent job search. I resent the lack of certainty about my future ... it scares me.

4. in case you don't know already, the final decision is 7 day Eastern Caribbean Cruise on Holland America's Massdam. sorry, no Seattle or LA, but there are still tickets available for the cruise ;) get them quick!

i'm been wanting to post since there's so much to write about, but not only was i super busy, over the weekend i caught the worst cold since sophmore yr around the same time of the yr (that time i almost died from too much nosebleed and fever =P ).

so let's do this reverse-chronologically,
11:16am@home. school is cancelled for the first snow day in my college career, and i woke up 30 minutes ago, now writing this blog. fever is gone now, all that's left is sore throat (why is it called sore throat?? my throat is not sore....it hurts like hell... i can barely swallow), headache, runny nose, and dizziness.
6:30pm@ece lab. i couldn't see straight anymore, all the schematic and layout lines are crossing over each other, so i realize working while u have a fever is not a good idea, even tho i slept 30 hours from friday nite to sunday morning. so m & i left the lab and drove back home under the worst snowstorm i've ever seen in pittsburgh. my car couldn't make it up the ramp leading to parking cuz there was too much snow, so i end up parkin' on the street, hopin' that i won't get a ticket. mm made me a nice pot of hot tea with honey ^^ and i laid on the futon for 2 hrs, then went home and slept.
12:37am@waterfront. just watched DareDevil, pretty good movie, but for some reason i don't feel good, i think i have a fever... that's ok, i'm sure it'll go away after lots of water and one night of sleep.
11:20pm@mm103. (wed) just watched long awaited movie Hero. the movie is really good, very artistically shot, with good action AND interesting plot, the conversations has a interesting terse style that's quite different from the typical "modernized acient chinese" style seen in chinese drama.

it has come to my attention that only 30% of bloggers update their blogs....you people should be ashamed! if u r reading this and you haven't update your site for a month.... that's just bad form...=p... but then it also seems that there's a direct correlation between how often u read blogs to how often u update your own...so maybe it's not so bad... sc told me about a perl script that monitors website and email u when they're updated... but then i get way too many emails already, so don't think it'd work for me (90% of mail are group project related or junk mail) ... maybe i'll adopt b's idea and write a perl script that searches websites and grabs all the new updates and composed a blog page of all the newest blogs... after i find a job ... ... maybe...

apple interview went well ... but the group is based in pitt... hopefully they can get me a interview at cuppertino...lockheed and MIT next week... wish me luck

sis just msg'ed me saying that a mysterious person sent me a bday card by mail with no return address, heh, this is interesting... the 37cent stamp shows that it's from within us&canada... but i don't know anyone who knows both my home address AND my chinese name (plus remembering my bday, that's the craziest part, since only 3 ppl remembered...) ah well, i guess i'll have to wait until they forward it 2 me to find out who it is... (thanks in advance ^^, if the person is reading this blog...)

so w just pointed out to me that this is my only semester without a programming class in college... pretty interesting...animation class is fun, but i get pissed after sitting in graphics cluster for more than 4 hrs... so i can only accomplish so much in a day... =/

shanghai knights friday nite. it was ok, typical jackychan action, much-more-random-than-usual-plot (the usual plots are already random enough), whoever wrote the script should be shot... or maybe they first shot all the action sequences, then throw them to the script writer and say "write a story that link all these settings together". Fann wen fong looks good in the movie tho =)

so i haven't posted anything philosophical in a while (why? i dunno, didn't feel inspired to write anything inspiring) ... so here's somethin' to think about... ppl like to ask "what do u [think/feel] about [event/object/person]?" or "why did u [action]?" and we tell them what we think... but in reality, you are telling them what you think you feel, or why you think u did it, but you don't really know why, or how u think. of course i am not talkin about thoughtless matters like why did u eat pasta for dinner...but rather things like "why do u want to study abroad?" "why did u get depressed?" or "why do u like [name of a person]?". so yes, i am talkin about logic and emotion, reason and instinct. There are decisions that are more logical and less emotional, but there are very few decisions that are purely logical, or purely emotional. ... what's the point of this paragraph? there's no point, except that i was emotionally stressed from working on animation all day, so logically i write a useless blog post to pass time until my food coma wears off.

sorry for the traditional-chinese-only-posts, from now on i'll post in traditional and simplified chinese, japanese, and english if i am posting a non-english post... ^^;;

advice: don't goto the waterfront GEagle at night...they don't have cashiers at nite, only those self serve thingy, which, are inhumane, poorly built, and slow as hell. actually, in order to make a statement, we should stop goin to that giant eagle all together, and tell them that don't try to use machine to replace human until the machine can do it as well as the machine...i.e. you push the cart into it, and out comes the bagged goods, and total charge on screen.

opinion: ski board rox0r =) i think i am gonna buy a pair when i get the chance (i.e. after i get a job, maybe) ... oh sorry, lemme explain. i went skiboarding last saturday with l,h,r,v,c(skiiers) and w+3others(boarders), and here's my review of skiboards after trying it for the first time. It's slower than skis, so it is not suitable for green circle slopes, as you'll be very slow...but it's perfect for double black diamonds, which i normally cannot do, since you have perfect control over your self, turning & jumping are really easy; it is very convenient, as you don't use poles(usually), and it's like weight and small, good for traveling; the boots are different from the ski boots: they are more comfortable(at least the one i wore was), and you have a little more freedom in your ankle than ski boots. all in all, it was a great experience.
